We have come across your site and would like to share our experience of visiting Racton ruin with a number of fellow investigators and a psychic 2 years back.
on the night of the investigation it was raining and very dark, adding to the atmosphere.we had been told by a friend about its history, that it was haunted by a man who was waiting for his son to return from a far distant war.that son never returnted so he hung himself.the psychic picked up a man walking behind us as we followed the trail up to the ruin.it seemed a menacing building, our psychic told us a satantic ritual had taken place inside the ruin.we heard noises as he said they was a group of people walking in the grass surrounding us very unsure of our interest.some male members of the group became agitated and the most petrified one was scratched and bruised on his arms.we were there about 3 hours taking pictures which were full of moving orbs.the general feeling was we were not wanted there.please reply if anyone has had similar experiences,my husband and i would like to once again go on any investigations,is it possible to join your ghost club as an investigator if you do such things? many thanks, christy. |

Hi
I know Racton very well and it has indeed been a place of occult worship I know many people have claimed to see figures moving in the trees and so on Dave |

Hi,
Thanks for the reply Dave, it's Christy's husband here, it is very interesting to learn from another source that occult worship took place at Racton and of the figures in the trees. Would you know of any group that regularly goes on ghost investigations? The group that we were with has disbanded. Mark |

My wife and I have been involved with two investigations, the first being Racton Ruin, the second was Cowdray Castle. A sense of foreboding enveloped everyone at this location, an evil presence appeared to our psychic guide in the form of a black robed monk and a large number of orbs, including a red orb were seen in the castle ruins.
Unfortunately the group disbanded after just two investigations late in 2006. We would have liked the opportunity to investigate a church in Bognor Regis where a ghost of a black dog with glowing red eyes was supposedly haunting the area. As you can see we are relative amateurs at investigating but would like to take it further if the opportunity arises. We could only do weekends due to work commitments and home life. My wife is a spiritual person who has been on several Reiki healing courses. I like all things unexplained, especially cryptozoology, however we are both very level headed and professional people |

Hi,
I have just googled 'racton ruin' and found this forum. In June 1999 I was with 2 friends and we went to the ruins around midnight and saw a horned cloaked figure in the field, it was gliding back and forth and then it stopped turned to us and headed straight for us at speed, we were so shocked and afraid we ran back to the car and then after a few minutes we drove back up but saw nothing. Has anyone heard of any similar sightings to this? Someone said it may have been herne the hunter. We can all remember what we saw so clearly after all this time and would like to know more about what it was and why we saw it. If anyone can give us anymore info we would be very interested to hear, many thanks. |
